Its not that bad. Maybe in the smaller models its noticeable, but in the larger models, the crampons add no more weight than in the smaller, so the weight doesn’t feel bad. The traction is incredible, and you are wrong to say that tubular doesn’t have good traction.

The fact is that so-called traction rails are really not well made, especially the straight ones. And all of these snowshoes have slippery plastic to the side of the steel traction pieces, so why choose to call out the tubes when they all have slippery plastic? Its because you don’t know. Why would the traction rail be good? Sharp points are what add traction on ice, so why would something called a traction rail help? I’ll tell you why you think it helps. It’s because the manufacturers call it a traction rail.
