I have bunions and require the space and most shoes don’t provide it. That said, I think Keens have gotten to be a much better shoe in recent years: more comfortable, more durable, better lacing, and a more comfortable heel fit. I used to find fault with them in all those ways. But downhill traction is a bit worse than I prefer ( uphill is fine), this might be partly because of the high heel-to-toe drop, not sure ( not that I’m a zero drop fan)
