Thanks Bob! Over the years I have found that I can still take great pictures with point-and-shoot cameras and I save a bunch of weight. I use the Sony RX 100 and I really like it. It’s not anywhere near as light as some other point-and-shoot models, but the photo quality is hard to beat. Annie uses a similar Sony model (not sure of the name) that is a bit lighter and less expensive. Her pictures also come out really well too, but the RX 100 is said to be a bit better.
I also cary a GoPro and a few tripod mounts with me for interesting videos and time-lapse photography. With all the batteries, mounts, and accessories, camera weight is definitely one of my heavy luxury items. That being said, I keep the rest of my pack really light, so I hardly even notice the extra weight.
