In reply to Simon. Thanks for the kind words! Miles is wearing a size medium in the Men's Torrentshell. We find Patagonia items generally fit true-to-size. Still, we encourage you to pop into a nearby outdoor gear store and try one on to make sure it fits well before purchase. Cheers!

In reply to joshua. Great question. The photos are of the Torrentshell 3L in Clement Blue. That said, this colorway is being phased out in favor of the Endless Blue.

I did some research on my own, prior to reading your review, and purchased the Torrentshell 3L yesterday!
Then this review showed up on my phone. Crazy!
From your review, it looks like I hit the nail on the head. My backcountry and backpacking days are over, due to a neuromuscular disease that has left me in a wheelchair, but I live in the Pacific Northwest and still get out in the rain. (The chair is waterproof) I have traveled on some very sketchy trails, and through forests and needed a jacket I could depend on!
It looks like I have found it in this Patagonia Torrentshell 3L.
