Not sure why you'd want to store your tree straps with the hammock. Tree straps can get sticky pine sap on them, moss from the tree, slug trails, etc. I store them in a "dirty" place, not next to by clean hammock body.

I picked up the Hummingbird single plus recently. It seems to stretch quite a bit when you get into it, so I was a little worried that I would stretch all the way to the ground. I raised the hammock up to counter this. I haven't encountered this with my GT hammocks or with the WB Blackbird XLC. Dave have you encountered this problem with your single hammock?

That's a cool little piece of gear. Seems so light and comfortable! I see no problems packing that, even if you're a light packer, like I like to think of myself :)
