I would first suggest having a look at the 7 Must-Own Backpacking Tools For 2015 post on my blog – https://www.DuskHiker.com/blog/7-must-own-backpacking-tools-for-2015. Most of those suggestions aren’t gender specific. The NeoAir and JetBoil are both great. Also, Gossamer Gear makes packs that women really love. The design is great for them.

Also, I’m working with my fiancee, Annie, to put more women’s content on the site. I think there’s a need for more solid female hiking info, and I’d love to provide some. Thanks again for your support!

Hey Dave,
Thanks for the great tips on hiking gear. I have four adult sons who are real outdoors-men. They like the gear and clothes I've bought them based on your recommendations. I get ideas for gifts for them on your website.
By the way, my two daughters-in-law, one soon-to-be daughter-in-law, and one son's girlfriend are all athletic and love the outdoors. Do you have any specific recommendations for them?

Icebreaker is where it's at when it comes to merino wool. They are well known for their socks, way more durable than SmartWool's.
